Unit Catalogue

In this unit students will gain an understanding of psychological factors that influence performance based on exemplary and contemporary practice. The emphasis will be on psychological processes and strategies that enhance individual, group and team performance and processes. The psychological impact of injury, disability and illness will be introduced, along with an overview of the benefits of physical activity and exercise on a range of participants, including mental health and well-being. Students will analyse psychological principles as they apply to physical self-enhancement. Attention will be given to coaching behaviours, practical strategies and how they can be implemented within the daily environment for sport and exercise participants.
