This unit is designed to provide students with work-based experience in an exercise or sports science setting with a healthy population from a range of age groups. A minimum of 140 hours will be completed under the supervision of an approved exercise and sports science, fitness or allied health professional. Students will work with persons such as scientists, rehabilitation consultants, personal trainers and physiotherapists. Students are required to find an industry supervisor who agrees to mentor the students during this placement. Students are able to undertake the practicum hours at more than one placement. A police check and working with children clearance may also be required in some placements and students need to check with their industry supervisors these requirements prior to the commencement of their placement.
