| In this unit students will identify and apply theoretical and evidence-based approaches to curriculum design and assessment for higher education. The foundation of this unit stems from students critically examining curriculum design and assessment regimes used in their teaching, and engaging with active reflection to implement pedagogically-sound curriculum and assessment design decisions. The objectives of this unit are to stimulate thinking about curriculum design and assessment at the course and unit level using the concept of constructive alignment, as well as to enhance practice in the development, implementation, evaluation and management of effective assessment. Students will explore the use of tools that enhance effective curriculum design and assessment, including those integrated into learner management systems. Products devised and developed in this unit will be integrated into the student's teaching portfolio to evidence their continuing development in the field.
