Unit Description

To thrive as a researcher and HDR supervisor today and to conduct research collaborations effectively, individuals need to adapt continually and to utilise technologies, techniques, and trends that shift inexorably. This unit will reveal how these individuals can attract, select, inspire, and assist collaborators, particularly HDR candidates and academic peers, more
effectively. Some of the highlights of this unit include advances in psychological techniques and digital technologies that can be applied to communicate more persuasively, to evaluate potential HDR candidates and collaborators more accurately, to manage distress more effectively, to deliver feedback and support more appropriately, and to interact with
diverse cultures more sensitively. The unit will revolve around an ongoing research program that is designed to improve the productivity of universities and wellbeing of staff.

1.	Design and present compelling research project proposals that resolve limitations, attract funding, and shape policy.
2.	Develop a portfolio of adaptable resources to support, motivate, guide, and help research candidates, assistants, fellows, and other collaborators.

4.	Reflect on and actively build a profile and reputation as a researcher and HDR supervisor.
